Day white water Rafting on the Trisuli River
This trek is popular as it allows us to visit the largest lake, Gosaikunda, at an elevation of 4380 m in the Langtang region. This lake has a black rock in the middle and is said to be the head of Lord Shiva. There is also a legend about a white rock under the water that is the remnant of an ancient shrine of Shiva. According to legend, Shiva himself created this high altitude lake when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming some poison. It is also said that the water from this lake disappears underground via a subterranean channel and surface sin Kumbheshwar pool, next to the five- stores Shiva temple in Patan, more than 60 km away. You would also be enjoying the topography of the langtang area with the “cold & fresh ” air blowing on the way. This trek is really a part of amazement to all adventure lovers. The route allows you to have the panoramic views of the langtang ranges – Dorje Lakpa, Shisha Pangma and many other langtang Himalayan ranges. The outlined itinerary goes as follows:
